Why
Ukraine
Ukraine
gained its independence in August of 1991, with the dissolution
of the Soviet Union. This event marks the first time for true
independence in the long history of these valiant people!
Ukraine has been dominated by totalitarian governments since
the eighth century. Located adjacent and just north of the
Black Sea, Ukraine has long been known as the 'bread basket;
of Europe and Russia. Today it is posed for industrial expansion
with vast natural resources, an educated and experienced work
force ready to work and an aggressive national attitude suited
for progressive solutions to their current economic problems.
Significant problems remain to be solved. Creative solutions
are needed to deal with redirecting industry, unemployment,
introducing democratic reforms, private ownership and social
welfare - most specifically care and
education of orphaned children.
